Treyarch to rescue Call of Duty fans with an advanced movement gameplay
According to Tom, it won’t be until 2023 that Call of Duty fans get a game with advanced movement. Treyarch is the studio responsible for developing the 2023 edition of the franchise, and it plans to break the rut.
When I say "likely" I mean that Infinity Ward's title is 100% Boots of the Ground and Treyarch is the next developer in line who could do advanced movement. But even that is unlikely because of Warzone plans, Warzone and integrations will easily be around 5+ years.

Activision has major plans for Warzone. The company has integrations planned for all the upcoming titles with its Battle Royale game, including those coming out in 2021 and 2022. In fact, Tom thinks these integrations might span over the course of about 5 years or more.
This plan of integrating Warzone into upcoming titles might be the reason Activision will continue with boots-on-the-ground gameplay. Therefore, while fans might expect advanced movement in Treyarch’s 2023 COD, they might have some disappointment in store.

Apart from the studio working on the upcoming Call of Duty game, Tom shared some more information. He feels that the upcoming game could follow in the footsteps of Modern Warfare. He calls it “gritty and controversial.”
What I've heard so far with CoD 2021;
– SHGames
– Gritty and likely going to be controversial like MW
– Boots on the ground
– Guerrilla-like Warfare
– Warzone integration— Tom Henderson (@_TomHenderson_) February 17, 2021

Another interesting revelation was that it could have guerilla-type warfare. It might come as a welcome change; however, there is not a lot that sounds unique about the upcoming title. With the arrival of Season Two in Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch has outdone themselves.
It will be difficult for Sledgehammer Games to do a better job than what Treyarch has achieved with Cold War. However, there is still a long time to go before the new title is even revealed. Therefore, fans can wait till the first reveal before forming their thoughts.
