Activision and Infinity Ward released the sixth season of Call of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare on September 28th. Although they loaded the update with various new and interesting elements, not a lot of players could enjoy them. This was a result of a bug that led to players experiencing crashes after the update.
Players have reported seeing error codes due to which their games wouldn’t start. Additionally, some players also report seeing a message informing them about missing data packs. This is happening regardless of the fact that players have everything installed.

Infinity Ward Provides an Update on Call of Duty Bug
Lead developers of Warzone and Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward, also took to Twitter to give an update on the issue. Their response came ten hours after Activision’s initial tweet. They had enough time to look into the matter and figure out a solution.
Infinity Ward informed the players that they are working on a fix. They have reached a solution but need to run some checks before they make it live. The ETA on the fix is by tomorrow. However, they are still unsure whether they can release it in time. Hence, the developers have added a disclaimer saying, “…we’re hoping to release tomorrow, pending any unforeseen issues with testing.”

Infinity Ward has promised to keep players updated on the issue. However, they don’t sound too sure about what they are doing. If they don’t roll out the fix soon enough, it would render the game unplayable for a lot of users.

While a majority of users are not facing similar issues, they still are experiencing a lot of in-game bugs. It appears that the developers rushed the update for both the Call of Duty games. Surely a bit more testing would have avoided such issues for the new season.
