Call of Duty Cold War has, up until now, gotten mostly good reviews. The game is currently in its alpha build and only a lucky handful are playing it across the planet. Therefore, the game is bound to have some issues and lack finesse.

However, there has been one stagnant complaint from most who have spent hours on the new Black Ops title. The alpha build has only three maps available, namely Satelite, Moscow, and Miami. It seems like most of the players do not particularly like Miami as a 6v6 map.

When Modern Warfare released, a constant complaint from the players was that most of the maps were too large for 6v6 gameplay. As time passed, Infinity Ward released more maps that were medium or small. But the main maps in the game were still the large ones and had too much going on in them.

The complaint with Cold War is similar in nature. Miami is quite a large map when playing a 6v6 match. It gives off vibes similar to that of Piccadilly from Modern Warfare. Nonetheless, Cold War has 10v10 and 12v12 game modes lined up for release with these maps. Maybe that will change how patrons currently feel about Miami, in general.

Why is Miami a problem in Call of Duty Cold War?

Large-sized maps have forever been on CoD playlists. However, there was a significant difference between maps then and now. The number of details on the Miami map might seem interesting at first, but that is also the reason why it gets frustrating soon after.

The map has too many places for players to explore. Players can even access the sea by the coast. The map is dark in long stretches, making it difficult to spot anyone in the distance while flanking. In addition to that, there are tons of vehicles and obstacles lying around the map, restricting movement. Snipers can have the time of their life if they camp up the high stories.

If a map is too big for a 6v6 matchup, then the game gets boring easily. Players have to keep running around to find some action. And thanks to the dark alleys, players might even simply die after spending two minutes trying to find enemies.

The beta release will go live on October 8 for PS4, so let’s hope Treyarch is listening very closely. They surely do not want to ruin the experience of competitive CoD like Modern Warfare did.
