The story so far in Black Ops Cold War Zombies
While most in-game intel suggests that the next DLC will be in Berlin, there is other information that confirms the suspicions. During the intro of Die Maschine, players can see Samantha Maxis walking around in Berlin and talking from a phone booth.

Players then saw her at the end of Firebase Z when she escaped from a portal after being stuck in the Dark Aether for years. Fans can notice that her eyes were glowing purple in Firebase Z, but these glowing eyes were not visible in the Die Maschine intro.
This means that Samantha Maxis is returning to Berlin again with Die Maschine and Firebase Z acting as a prequel to the events. Along with that, Valentina will also meet a contact in Berlin with many intels suggesting that it will be Edward Richtofen. Samantha Maxis wrote about a dangerous kid in her journal, and most fans would know about her childhood friendship with Richtofen in previous Zombies titles.

The Berlin DLC map
Many rumors have been floating around about the details of the upcoming Berlin DLC. Most of them suggest that it will be one of the darkest and realistic maps not only in Zombies but also in Cold War. It will also be one of the larger maps in the game, with wide streets and narrow corridors with a lot of vertical elements. Many believe that it will look similar to the East Berlin map from the Cold War campaign.
Treyarch have revealed no details about the setup for the DLC, like the way they did for Firebase Z and Maxis’s retrieval. But with intel suggesting that Valentina and Kravchenko are meeting someone in Berlin who most likely will be Richtofen, the story will probably revolve around the opening of a Dark Aether portal releasing the Nazi Zombies.
