Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies Season 4 introduces Mauer Der Toten DLC
The Roadmap for Season 4 of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone confirmed that fans will receive a new Survival map. The developers will release it in July, and they have disclosed the name to be Mauer Der Toten. The German word translates to Wall of the Dead in English. Mauer Der Toten is an ode to the Berlin Wall that divided the European country in two until it was destroyed in 1989. The storyline will revolve around Berlin in the year 1984, and it will involve a lot of Nazi Zombies.
From the image released by Activision, it seems like it will look quite similar to Berlin from the Black Ops Cold War campaign missions. Players should expect to see some common locations and reused assets from the campaign. The Season 4 teaser trailer for the map also showcased a burning subway train. This resembles the U-Bahn Onslaught map, so fans already have a slight preview of the upcoming DLC. Along with that, players can also assume that they can ride the Subway as a mode of transportation.
What to expect from the storyline?
Mauer Der Toten will continue the storyline of the Dark Aether following the events of Operation Excision in the Outbreak mode. Players have to face new threats in war-torn East Berlin after a massive zombie invasion has terrorized the city. These Zombies will be of Nazi origin who have escaped from the Dark Aether. Additionally, the location was also showcased in a Firebase Z cutscene involving Samantha Maxis. The small clip showed Maxis exiting a telephone booth in Berlin, who then walked away from it in the rain.
