Activision revealed the trailer for the first campaign mission of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at the Sony PS5 Showcase event. While they didn’t divulge much into the storyline, we did get to see a bit of the gameplay. The plot is set in the Cold War era, which means we will get to see some Western vs. Soviet bloc action. However, it’s still a mystery as to which events the studio has based the campaign on.

While many have speculated over the same, reliable CoD news YouTuber, TheGamingRevolution, has suggested an interesting storyline.

Black Ops Cold War Witnesses the Cuban Missile Crisis

Cuban Missile Crisis was the first major event in the Cold War after the end of World War II. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to include some rendition of the event in the campaign mode of the game.

As per TheGamingRevolution’s tweet, we now know that the campaign may revolve around the protagonist trying to stop a Russian spy. The spy, Perseus, who is played by Andrey Ivchenko, possesses a nuke and is working with Cuba. While there is no information available on anything else, many have reacted to the choice of actor for Perseus.

Most wanted to see Arnold Schwarzenegger play the role of Soviet spy Perseus. TheGamingRevolution replied to one such tweet by saying Andrey was probably the cheaper option available.

While we now have a faint overview of how the Cold War campaign, we will need to wait longer for further details on the same. Although, a lot of fans have already begun predicting how the campaign will look like once it releases. Others are more interested in answers that were missing from previous Black Ops games. And as always, some want to see popular characters from previous Black Ops titles to make an appearance in Cold War.
