Call of Duty pro player Christopher “ProFeeZy” Astudillo recently posted a tweet saying that several players from well-known teams have been using anti-recoil and auto-strafe mods in their gameplay. Players calling out other players for cheating isn’t new in the Call of Duty league scene. We see that happen every other day. But this accusation is far more serious and cannot be ignored as baseless banter.

ProFeeZy’s tweet says that the players have bought CronusMAX mods and have been allegedly using them in pro league matches.

A Call of Duty competitive player “Skadezy” also posted a tweet with a video describing to what extent the Cronus anti-recoil mod works.

This news has sparked mixed reactions among fans and players alike. Some are even saying that this has been happening since Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Apparently the sale of CronusMAX mods was supposed to have stopped
ProFeeZy talks of this in detail in the comment thread on his tweet (above).
they dont make them anymore thank the lord. But theres still a lot on the internet for resale

Also, CronusMAX cheating is not a new thing. Players have been doing it for a while now. You can read an old Reddit discussion thread about Cronus cheating in Black Ops 3 here.
What CronusMAX actually is (or rather, was), is a cross-compatibility gaming adapter. It makes your controller compatible with every console. Using Cronus adapters for personal usage is not illegal, but using Cronus mods in a pro league or competitive match will get you banned.
Dallas Empire player James “Clayster” Eubanks also posted a tweet calling out the players who have recently defeated him to be cheaters.
Anyone I lose to now is cheating with a cronus antirecoil mod and I won't be convinced otherwise 😤
impossible to be just better

Can this be actually stopped in Call of Duty Leagues? And how?

This is a real issue. Clayster retweeted Skadez’s tweet asking the same question:
Stuff like this really does make you think. There's legit no way to stop this, and how would you tell if someone is "just beaming" or is using a mod? https://t.co/fI4P5ikMj1

Truly, it does not seem like there is a way to tell when the matches have been moved online. Also, if someone even knows if another pro is using a Cronus cheat, there is no way to prove it anywhere. As in, there will no evidence as such on online matches. Probably by checking each controller in the lobby before matches might be a way out. But then, there can be ways around it as well.
All we can do now is hope for someone to come up with a way of preventing this and preventing the competitive integrity of the game.
