Six years of playing high school and college football have led up to this moment. Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears rumors have finally been confirmed. It truly wasn’t surprising considering that Williams visited only Chicago as part of his top-30 visit while being the only QB that the Bears met with.

After the Bears confirmed the highly expected rumors that they picked USC Caleb Williams as their No. 1 overall pick, he trudged with high energy on the stage and hugged Roger Goodell before being handed the Bears jersey. As Williams officially becomes a Bears player, one of the proudest people there could be is his father.

Caleb Williams’ father wanted his son to be soaring on the top of the 2024 NFL Draft and now his son turned that dream into reality. Carl previously played college football at Oklahoma State and is currently the owner of Athletic Republic Capitol Region, a gym and training center. While he was previously snubbed by fans for his opinion that the worst NFL team should get the top 1 pick, he always believed that Caleb Williams would be the No. 1 pick off the board. And with his 22-year-old son becoming the first pick, his dream is acknowledged.

The Bears haven’t made the playoffs since 2020 but with Williams’ confirmation to have his presence at Soldier Field might turn the Bears’ history around. Chicago also never had a QB who had thrown for 4000+ yards in a season. But if Caleb Williams is to bring his college football success to the franchise, he might soon be breaking records.

During his three seasons in college football, Caleb Williams threw 93 TDs to just 14 interceptions. In his Heisman Trophy-winning season in 2022, he threw for 4,537 yards and 42 TDs. GM Ryan Poles envisions Williams as the main ingredient for a revamped offense after adding Keenan Allen and DJ Moore. CBSSports’ Pete Prisco said of Caleb Williams, “They say he’s generational, and he might be… Only time will tell.” While we’re anxious to see how this highly-touted QB would fare with the Bears, we’ll have to wait.
