The draw ceremony for the 2015 BWF World Championships was held in Jakarta on Tuesday. With all the big names related to BWF and Indonesian sport present, the ceremony was well organized. As the badminton fraternity waited with bated breath, the draws for the marquee event were made public.

Keeping in line with the World rankings, Chen Long was seeded 1 in the draw and Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark placed in the other end  of the Men’s singles. Five time World Champion, 5th seeded Lin Dan was also placed in the same half as the Dane with a quarter-final clash between them likely if things go according to script.

Two time Olympic silver medalist Lee Chong Wei and India’s latest superstar K. Srikanth are also in the same half with a last-8 meeting likely between the two. Defending champion Chen Long should be pleased with the draw. His toughest opponents should be Kento Momota and Viktor Axelsen. P. Kashyap has been handed a tough draw with Kento Momota in the pre-quarters if both of them make it.  Party spoiler HS Prannoy might have to face Dane Viktor Axelsen at a similar stage in the draw.
