Tom Brady is one of the most involved players with his franchise. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback always helps participate in the process of bringing in new players to the franchise.

Brady is one of the most astute footballing minds in the NFL, so it is only natural that he has a say over their recruitment. But what role does Brady play in this process? Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager revealed the same.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ General Manager Jason Licht spoke on the Rich Eisen Show about Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He noted that Brady seemed satisfied with the Buccaneers’ recruitment process.

“I think he was very happy just with the players in the roster and the coaches. And now, with any great player Tom at that position, if we’re thinking about signing Gio Bernard, for example, I’ll let him know, ‘Hey, thinking about signing Gio Bernard, a little push might help’. He’s like, ‘I’m on it, love that kid’.”

Tom Brady stays very involved with his franchise

Licht added that Brady also played a role in the franchise signing Leonard Fournette before the start of the last season. Brady was a big fan of Fournette and wanted to do everything in his power to help his franchise bring him in.

Licht believes that Brady appreciates how much the team tries to keep him as involved as possible. But he doesn’t use his influence to strong-arm the team into bringing certain players.

“With Leonard last year – ‘that’s awesome, I love that. He’d be a great addition. I’ll help you out and Bruce out as much as I can’.

“So I think he likes the fact that we tell him who we’re thinking of signing every once in a while if it’s particularly if it’s going to help him on the offense.

“But in terms of having a meeting where we go over the board and talk about all of our plans. That’s just not his style, he trusts us.”
