South Carolina Gamecocks‘ wide receiver Bryan Edwards is now the state’s all-time receptions leader. It was clear for anyone to see why, because Edwards can make catches that others simply cannot.
Late in the first half, Edwards tied the school record for career receptions (207) with an unbelievable one-handed grab. This stunner was worthy of even Odell Beckham Jr and it propelled Edwards into the record books
The one-handed catch on the Tennessee 1-yard gave Edwards career catch No. 207. This tied him with Kenny McKinley at No. 1 on the all-time USC list. A third quarter grab gave him No. 208 and pushed him over the top.

Edwards entered Saturday needing four receptions to tie the late McKinley and five to pass the 2007 All-SEC selection.
This is the second record Edwards has set in three weeks. In a win against Georgia on Oct. 12, Edwards caught a pass in a 44th straight game, also passing McKinley for the longest streak in Carolina history.

Edwards remains within reach of USC’s all-time receiving yards and touchdowns records. All of this has been on his radar since before the season began.
“Obviously it’s something you think about, anytime you can put your name in the record book and get your name on the stadium and things like that,” Edwards told SEC Media Days. “I’m excited for it, but I know the only way I can accomplish it is if I go out there and do my job.”

Initially, the throw was called a touchdown and the ball was spotted just outside the goal line upon review. However, the Gamecocks did manage to score from Bryan Edwards’ catch. The highlight grab is deservedly getting “catch of the year” recognition on social media.
As a result, Bryan Edwards became South Carolina’s receptions record holder in the third quarter. Edwards currently has five catches for 50 yards while South Carolina trails Tennessee 31-21 in the third quarter.
