The UFC is all set to set up the stage in the UFC Apex Arena at Las Vegas. After receiving the go-ahead, the matchmakers are now diving into all sorts of interesting possibilities. And Dana White just announced one such extremely interesting matchup. The Korean Zombie vs. Brian Ortega.
In an interview with ESPN’s Bret Okamoto, Dana said, “Ortega and The Korean Zombie are gonna fight.”

This comes as huge news, as the two Featherweights share a somewhat strained history. The UFC fixed a match between them at UFC on ESPN+ 23 on 21 December 2019. However, Ortega had to pull out of the fight citing a knee injury in early December.
But that’s not where the relation between the two ends. Brian Ortega was present in the audience at UFC 248. As he enjoyed the fights, he got into an argument with a fellow spectator. And coincidentally, that spectator was none other than the manager for Chan Sung Jung aka The Korean Zombie, Jay Parker.
While the beef between the two ended in an apology coming from Ortega, The Korean Zombie did promise to knock him out if they ever met in the Octagon. And it looks like fate wants Chan to prove whether he can do what he says.
Dana White is extremely excited about The Korean Zombie. vs. Brian Ortega
Dana White is apparently looking forward to seeing Brian Ortega and The Korean Zombie lock horns with the utmost enthusiasm. In fact, he even went to the extent to say that the fight will be as exhilarating as the recent Interim Lightweight Championship fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.

“You know, how I just went out and said [about the] Ferguson fight against Gaethje? I said, ‘I absolutely, positively guarantee you that this fight will be great!’ That’s the same thing with Brian Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie. There’s no way this fight is boring. And the guy that comes out of that fight would be next in line for a title shot.”

The announcement comes as a huge boost for the Featherweight Division. As Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski prepare for their rematch in an upcoming title bout, the winner of the fight might face either Chan Sung Jung or Ortega later this year.
