Former UFC interim champion, Colby Covington is set to challenge the undisputed welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 245. Covington is undoubtedly one of the best fighters in the division, with some impressive wins over Robbie Lawler, Rafael Dos Anjos, and Demain Maia. However, Covington’s skillset inside the octagon is not the only thing that bothers his opponents. His trash talk and gimmicks leading to the fight arguably has a crucial impact on the outcome of the fights. With his heel persona, he has managed to create rivalries with many UFC fighters.

Colby Covington loves to flaunt the playboy persona, and hence he is often seen around with multiple ladies during the press conference and social media. Well, it is not as easy it seems to portray a heel character all the time. In a recent interview with Brendan Schaub, the former interim champion, Colby Covington appeared with two ladies who were hired for the segment by Covington. Schaub shares a funny story of Covington trying to convince those ladies to give him a massage during the interview and how the ladies reacted to that.

Talking about the ladies, Schaub said:

“They don’t know who he is, they hate being there. They might have been strippers, lovely ladies. So we are in the back and he(Covington) goes “Uhh!! you know what would be cool is while I am talking to Brendan can one of you rub my shoulder.”

To this demand of Covington, the two ladies replied:

“I am not rubbing your fu**ing shoulders.”

Both Covington and Schaub were surprised with the scenario as Covington insisted the ladies to play along. However, both the ladies denied such a request.

“He(Covington) goes nothing. She goes “F**k no” He(Covington) goes “that’s cool, Alright.” described former UFC fighter, Brendan Schaub.

Colby Covington’s gimmick can be often misleading. It has nothing to do with the elite level of skillsets that he brings in to the octagon every time he fights. However, it would be intriguing to see how he overcomes arguably the toughest challenge of his career yet, Kamaru Usman in UFC 245.
