Cyberpunk 2077 is the singular most revolutionizing game in 2020. That it has not even released yet only quantifies its influence. CD Projekt RED has used the freedom of the futuristic setting to its fullest to develop a game that normalizes the unimaginable.
Since the time CDPR started releasing regular information about Cyberpunk 2077, we have learned a lot about the technological enhancements available in Night City. Players can have chips planted inside their brains to communicate with an AR version of another individual. Furthermore, some technological enhancements on the body can turn it into a weapon in itself.

Nonetheless, the most unique and controversial addition to the game has to be Braindance.
What is Braindance? Well, the official Cyberpunk Wiki page defines Braindance as;
“A sort of personal version of the Net and genre of experimental sonic excursions. It is an immersive virtual reality and sonic complexity. Braindances enjoy wide use in the Cyberpunk world. They are most often used for entertainment (the new version of video games/TV/movies/breakbeats, or types of entertainment that combine them together).”
It was invented by Yuriko Sujimoto back in 2007 in California when he was a graduate student.
In plain terminology, think of it as a chip placed inside the brain that records your memories as they occur. You can play them back inside your head, at will. Furthermore, if others they get their hands (dirty or not) on the chip, they can play it and feel the exact same emotions you felt in each memory that is recorded in it.
So if a person dies while recording, when another person watches it, they can feel and see whatever the dead person went through.

While the possibilities are endless with Braindance, its usage in Night City is sometimes of the problematic kind. It allows users to experience events that are not their own. These leads to an emerging demand in the underprivileged sect who want to experience the glowing lifestyle of the elite.
Braindance addiction is of a serious kind. The ability to temporarily “become” a celebrity makes it an escape route for people drowning in poverty and social exclusion. There are also instances of illicit Braindance recording (XBD) trade in Night City’s black market. It is the ‘VR drug’ that runs in the gutters of Night City.
