Is Mike Tyson risking his legendary status by stepping into the ring with Jake Paul?

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is confident he is ready for this upcoming bout against YouTube boxing sensation Jake Paul. However, not everyone in the boxing world shares that confidence, which has resulted in Tyson’s daughter, Milan Tyson, getting caught in the crossfire after ‘Iron’ Mike shared a fight poster on social media today.

‘The Problem Child’ is set to lock horns with ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ on November 15th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This comes after their initial bout in July earlier this year got postponed due to a health scare in a cross-country flight, which caused many to question Tyson’s ability to fight at 58. Turns out those concerns haven’t gone away.

Growing Concerns for Mike Tyson

Despite Tyson’s legendary career and victories over some of the fiercest opponents, many fans are more concerned about Paul’s explosive power. While Paul has yet to face a truly notable boxer, he has knocked out former UFC champions like Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Anderson Silva—all of whom were significantly older than him.

Even though Mike Tyson himself has reassured everyone about his readiness, it appears few have complete confidence in the former heavyweight champion. However, it’s worth noting that the rules of the upcoming bout have been modified slightly to give Tyson the edge. For instance, the rounds will be just two minutes long, and the fight will consist of eight rounds.

Regardless, Tyson posted a poster of his upcoming fight on Instagram today, with the caption reading, “4 weeks. See you in Arlington.” This prompted Tyson’s daughter Milan to leave a teasing comment, reading, “Very Coquette guys.” However, she wouldn’t have guessed the responses she received on it.

Fan feels the fight against Jake Paul is fixed

While some of Tyson’s fans are backing him to knock Paul out during the fight, others feel Tyson is doing it for money. Like this user who brought up the risk, Tyson is taking with the fight. “Not ur dad risking his legacy to lose to @jakepaul,” the user commented. However, if you look at it, Paul is the one taking the risk—if he wins, everyone will say he won against a 58-year-old, and if Paul loses, he will be the laughingstock.

Another user levied some serious allegations against both Paul and Tyson, suggesting the outcome is fixed. The user asked, “Why is ur dad doing this bruh.. gonna lose on purpose for some money that he doesn’t need seriously???” Notably, there’s no evidence that the outcome is fixed, and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is sanctioning the bout.

Unlike the previous comments, the next user was upbeat about the matchup. “I’m so hyped your dad is gonna whoop his ahh,” the user wrote. Notably, Tyson is a 2-to-1 underdog and Paul is a 1-to-3 favorite in the upcoming bout.

This user had similar sentiments. “Milan could you tell your Dad I said ‘TYSON BOMBAYE,’ your Dad knocked out 4 Olympic Gold Medalists, and fought other top amateurs, No puncher like your Dad. Tyson was ahead of his time. Tyson Bombaye! Team Tyson LETZ GOOOOO,” wrote the user. In fact, Tyson went on to become the youngest heavyweight champion, a record intact to this day.

However, the positive comments stopped there, as the next user seemed irritated with Milan’s comment. The user wrote, “Shut up *****.” The user might not want Tyson to find out about this.

It appears despite all the assurances from Mike Tyson, his fans aren’t quite convinced he should be getting in the ring with Jake Paul next month. However, by the looks of things, the fight is inevitable. Do you share the same concerns? Let us know in the comments.
