It’s been almost two years since Mike Tyson stepped foot into the squared circle. The boxing legend last competed in an exhibition bout against fellow boxer Roy Jones Jr. back in 2020. However, it looks like Iron Mike might be ready to step back into the ring now as talks of a comeback are being reported.

Tyson’s next opponent is reportedly none other than current WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, who has been making waves in the pro-wrestling world in recent times.

Bobby Lashley gets approached to fight Tyson

According to a report by Fightful Select (h/t Joshua Jones of ThirstyForNews.com), Lashley has been approached by a “bare-knuckle company rep” who offered the United States champion a shot at the former heavyweight champion. This bout is reportedly scheduled to take place at the Mecca of boxing Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Garden has recently undergone a renovation costing a whopping $1 billion. The news changes include two “Chase Bridges”, a remodeled Chase Square 7th Avenue entrance featuring two 600-square-foot video screens on the ceilings, and a state-of-the-art GardenVision scoreboard. If the fight does take place, the arena certainly meets the requirements for this blockbuster event.

Notably, Lashley has gone on to state that it would be an honor for him to face the boxing legend in the ring. However, there has been no word from Tyson regarding this bout.

Bobby Lashley vs Mike Tyson

Bobby Lashley is currently one of the most talked about prospects in pro wrestling. He is the current WWE United States champion, while also having held the WWE Championship twice. Moreover, he has also competed in amateur wrestling and MMA.

He made his MMA debut back in 2008 and has an impressive record of 15-2. Lashley competed in his last MMA bout back in 2016. Tyson, on the other hand, has not competed professionally since he hung his gloves back in 2005.

While Tyson might have been one of the scariest and most intimidating boxers of his time, he is not the same person physically. The 56-year-old Tyson is way past competing and it is highly unlikely that he would take on Lashley. Not to mention, Lashley is currently under contract with the WWE and it is doubtful that they would let their U.S. champion compete elsewhere.
