Floyd Mayweather was ringside during the AEW Double or Nothing event in MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas as Swerve Strickland took on Christian Cage for his AEW World Championship title. The update comes amid speculations about Mayweather’s whereabouts since Gervonta Davis had started rumors about the former champion being stuck in Dubai. Why?

Well, Davis, backed by Rick Glaser, alleged ‘Money’ was confined to Dubai because of unpaid dues in the country. This claim was further solidified by Mayweather’s absence in Mexico to promote his exhibition rematch with former rival Victor Ortiz, something Floyd had initially teased on Instagram, but later deleted the post.

Amidst swirling rumors, Mayweather made a notable appearance in Las Vegas for the Clippers vs. Mavericks game, before demonstrating his generosity by spontaneously donating $30,000 to a homeless man in downtown LA. His recent appearance at AEW Double or Nothing effectively dispelled any lingering doubts about his whereabouts, solidifying the fact that he is indeed free to move around the world despite prior rumors suggesting otherwise.

As the night progressed, the tension mounted until Strickland and Cage finally stood toe-to-toe in the ring, delivering a match that stole the night. With every move, they battled fiercely, each determined to assert dominance over the men’s roster. In the end, Strickland emerged victorious, successfully defending his AEW World Championship in front of a roaring crowd and countless viewers at home.

Amidst a jubilant celebration with the crowd, Strickland’s eyes locked onto Floyd Mayweather in the front row, his excitement palpable as he cheered for his fellow world champion. Without hesitation, they joined in celebrating the victory together, their camaraderie captured by the camera for all to witness. However, this wasn’t the first time Floyd was spotted enjoying some wrestling. In fact, the former five-division champion even appeared in the WWE ring.

When Floyd Mayweather Stepped into the WWE Ring and Left Big Show Bleeding

All the way back in February 2008, ‘Money’ had just beaten Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas the year before, when he appeared ringside during the WWE Now Way Out pay-per-view event. Big Show had just returned to the wrestling scene and appeared in the show. However, as he was about to choke slam Rey Mysterio after taunting Mayweather in the crowd, things spiraled out of control.

Floyd Mayweather suddenly jumped the fence and entered the ring to confront Big Show, and after a few taunts, the five-division champion landed several blows on the biggest athlete that left Big Show bleeding. Years later, in 2023, in an interview with talkSport, Big Show revealed, “I told Floyd ‘hey when you do this, run, because I’m half-nuts so if I get my hands on you…’ Shane was the only one who came over, because Shane’s got balls bigger than anybody.” Floyd Mayweather made waves in WrestleMania 24 when he stepped into the ring against the formidable Big Show, toppling the heavyweight giant in an epic showdown.
