Who is the richest Olympian?

Although Mayweather, Phelps, and Williams have earned millions of dollars throughout their career, they are still outranked by other Olympic athletes. Unsurprisingly, the richest olympian is also the richest athlete on the planet. And that crown lies comfortably with Michael Jordan.

According to celebrity net worth, Michael Jordan is worth a whopping $2.2 billion. Surprisingly, Jordan earned only a fraction of his $2.2 billion, while being a player. He makes a lot of money through his deal with Nike and the Air Jordan brand, bringing in roughly $30 million a year.

Most importantly, Jordan earned billionaire status through his stake in the Charlotte Hornets, in which he first acquired a minority stake in 2006. Eventually, he consolidated his stake in the franchise over the years by increasing it to 89% by 2014.

Additionally, according to a report, the Romanian ice hockey player, Ion Tiriac, is the second richest Olympian and is estimated to be worth a whopping $1.7 billion dollars.

Tiriac initially represented his country in ice hockey in the 1964 Olympics. However, he later transitioned to tennis, where he became a star. Furthermore, his major source of income is the Banca Tiriac, the first private bank in the country. Later, he got involved in other investments as well.

Moreover, in third place is the Danish dressage rider Anna Kasprzak, who represented Denmark at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Kasprzak is the heir to the billion-dollar company Ecco, a Danish shoe manufacturer. Hence, her estimated net worth is $1.4 billion.

Where do Floyd Mayweather, Serena Williams, and Michael Phelps rank on the list?

The five-division champion Floyd Mayweather has racked in over a billion dollars through his fights alone. Hence, Mayweather just missed out on the top 3 spots and came in fourth with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion.
