Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is known for his fearless and ruthless nature, which earned him the nickname ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’. And even years after he first stepped into the ring, the legendary boxer remains unchanged; but not shy to tell people exactly how he feels, his statements are often deemed offensive and disrespectful.

Not one to miss out on trending events either, Tyson recently commented on transgender swimmer Lia Thomas and her participation in the women’s division, which has stirred quite the controversy

Tyson comments on Lia Thomas

Talk show host Bill Maher made an appearance on Mike Tyson’s podcast Hotboxin’. The show’s co-host Sebastian Joseph-Day asked Maher how he felt about trans athletes competing in professional sports.

How do you feel about Transgender’s being able to compete in opposite gender or their original gender sports?” he asked Maher. To this, Maher responded by stating that it is not fair for the female athletes,” Well I just go by what the women are saying, women athletes who are saying it’s not fair to us,” Maher replied.

Moreover, Tyson then jumped into the conversation and stated that he knew a transgender tennis player who got beat all the time and did not win any championships. Maher then responded by giving the example of trans swimmer Lia Thomas, who is currently competing in the women’s division, “no of course it doesn’t happen all the time, but I mean the big case now is Lia Thomas. This is someone who was born a man and still has a p**is I believe,” Maher told Tyson.

Tyson then responded by stating that Thomson should not be able to compete in the women’s division despite being transgender, “you’ve got the p**is you can’t play baby,” said Tyson. Maher then stated that she is currently competing and winning championships to which Tyson responded by saying, “Who the hell am I to talk.

Tyson had a very troubled childhood. His father left him when he was just 2 years old and he was forced to grow up in the streets of Brooklyn. What had a significant impact on his life was the loss of his mother when he was just 16. However, it was these trying times that made him a man of steel inside the ring and turned him into the phenom he is today.
