Moreover, this mindset has made him one of the richest athletes of all time. ‘Money’ Mayweather never shies away from a good bet. In fact, Mayweather once raked in millions on a well-placed bet.

Mayweather was attending a college football game where Michigan faced Alabama in 2012. It was reported that he placed a wager on Alabama. But there was a lot of uncertainty, with multiple sources claiming that Mayweather bet on Michigan.

However, the claims were silenced once the game ended with Alabama winning 41-14. Talking about Mayweather’s massive haul, Terez Owens reported, “Floyd Mayweather won 3 million off of Alabama destroying Michigan 41-14. It’s funny how all you foolio’s were telling me he took Michigan. Floyd is a winner and we will be laying down our hard earned cash on whatever he bets.”

Phelps once raked in some serious cash after a betting night at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. It was reported that Phelps and his friends played a cash poker game, and walked away with a neat USD 100,000 after winning a single game.
