“Shame on You”: ‘Lone’ Supporter & Renowned MMA Journalist Ariel Helwani Rips Into Jake Paul for Degrading Paulo Costa vs Luke Rockhold

UFC 278 main card event between Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold was an interesting match-up that fans were anticipating. It was a sensational battle between the two fighters, both strutting their way to landing perfect hits on one another. Eventually, Costa won the fight, and a 37-year-old Rockhold looked exhausted. He also stated that it might be his last fight. 

Following the fight, Jake Paul and Ariel Helwani got into a Twitter feud, where Paul was constantly insulting Costa and Rockhold. While Helwani was firm on his belief that both the fighters gave their all out there in the fight, Rockhold is a legend who has paved the way for younger generations of Paul’s age.

Paul iterated in a Tweet, “Luke Rick hold and Paulo as pioneers?? Lol you must be drunk …

Ariel Helwani berates Jake Paul over his “shameful” comments 

Ariel Helwani is a Canadian sports journalist, who is best known for his MMA coverage. Being a popular name in the industry, he has hosted several notable guests on his show. Even ‘The Problem Child’ has been on his show. However, the recent Twitter battle between the two has put them on different ends. 

Helwani was against what Paul said about the Rockhold and Costa fight, and said, “Shame on you for saying what you said about those guys on Saturday night. And not because I get it. Trust me, I get it. They are eighty fivers, picking a fight. One guy is at the end of his UFC contract. The other guy is at the end, there’s potential fights there. I get that this is somewhat of a work, but shame on you.”

“And I don’t even care, that you are coming after me. The lone guy in MMA media, it feels at times, who has had your back. Who has supported what you have tried to do, who has given you props, right? Forget about all that,” he said.
