It all goes south for Ryan Garcia! The worst scenario has come true for him. A settlement reached between the New York State Athletic Commission and Garcia’s legal team, after the latter tested positive for the PED Ostarine, will see ‘KingRy’ face a one-year suspension from the date of the Haney fight. And if that wasn’t enough, Garcia’s win over long-time rival Devin Haney will be declared a “no contest”. Ostarine has been on WADA’s banned list since 2008. Moreover, in 2022 it was labeled as an anabolic agent.

As for Garcia, he has to pay a fine of $10,000 and forfeit his $1.1M official contract purse for his fight with ‘The Dream’. Following the NYSAC verdict, Garcia wrote on X, ” You don’t know what Im feeling I’ve been fighting since I was seven someone cheated me .” Some would say the writing was on the wall as Garcia revealed in his earlier tweets that he was “offically retired” from boxing as “there is so much corruption”.

After all the commotion Ryan has been through, he is now looking to switch lanes. A request has been made to UFC’s head honcho Dana White. Not one, but three tweets directed at him. At face value, Garcia seems to be serious about his latest decision. On top of that, a forecast made by Garcia could ensure a life coming full circle moment. The only requirement? Dana’s nod of approval.

Contingency plans made!

While fighting for his innocence in the PED scandal, Garcia is already looking for an alternate career path. “I am headed to the UFC,” Garcia wrote on X. However, that wasn’t all. He directed a series of tweets towards White. “For real Dana white hit me up,” wrote the 25-year-old while facing a 1-year suspension. Garcia even went a step ahead and ended up quoting ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor. He wrote, “Dana I want my 50gs,”

As we wait to see how Garcia’s UFC saga unfolds, an interview he did with UFC veteran Ben Askren three years ago comes to mind. On his podcast show Fierce Talk with Ryan Garcia, the Victorville native revealed, “I’ve always said I’m gonna retire at 26. Everybody looks at me crazy right yeah, but I’m doing it to go into the MMA ring.”

Garcia further revealed that he wanted to show the world that he could “not only box” but be the “best warrior in the world”.

It is now up to White to turn Garcia’s words into a prophecy. One thing is for sure, signing Garcia would mean more eyeballs to the sport. Garcia has a massive fanbase, and it poses an opportunity for the UFC head to cash in on the entertainment he would bring to the pre-fight buildup. On the other hand, ‘KingRy’s’ lack of any combat skill set other than boxing could prevent Dana from signing him.

It is difficult for a highly functioning individual like Garcia to rest on his laurels. Remember when Garcia made a music video while training for his fight against Devin Haney? Well, it’s time to put his varied talents to use now that he can’t enter the squared circle for at least one year. As per his recent tweets, acting and singing are also some avenues he can delve into.

Meanwhile, it seems Devin Haney is enjoying Garcia’s downfall as he looks to run it back again with the 25-year-old boxer.

Dancing in another man’s misery!

With Garcia’s win declared a “no contest”, Devin Haney remains undefeated in the sport. However, it is hard to wash away the pain of being knocked down three times in the fight against ‘Garcia.

On that note, Haney expressed his desire to “run it back” on aneven playing field” once Ryan’s suspension is over. However, the NYSAC verdict didn’t stop him from taking a dig at Garcia’s misfortune. Quite literally, Haney posted a video of him dancing as he got back his 31-0 record.

Responding to the video on X, Garcia tweeted, “The devil doing that gay two step H*M*S FOR GARCIA”.
