After his underwhelming performance against Nate Diaz in August, Jake Paul recently declared that his next bout will be on December 15th. While Paul thought it beneficial to fight ahead of Christmas, he did not confirm the figure he would face in the ring. Given the fight he fought against Nate Diaz, several sources believed ‘The Problem Child’ would likely handpick yet another aging and retired mixed martial artist to ascertain a crucial win.

At this, as boxing fans wondered about Jake Paul’s next potential opponent, former UFC BMF title holder Jorge Masvidal showed interest in facing ‘The Problem Child’ in boxing. In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, the retired mixed martial artist claimed he would hurt Paul seriously if they were to fight. Well, here is what he said.

Based on what he saw Jake Paul do against Nate Diaz and Tommy Fury, Jorge Masvidal is of the opinion that ‘The Problem Child’ will not keep up with his skills. As per him, while Masvidal likes Paul, the mixed martial artist would hurt the YouTuber-turned-boxer if they stepped inside a ring. “I’d rather show you with my hands. But I would bust that dude up,” said the 38-year-old.

I like the kid, he’s cool. I got no problems with him. But, if we’re going to box, I’m going to try to rip his head off,” announced the mixed martial artist who finds boxing “very shady.” In his opinion, given his conditioning and grit, it is natural that he will stop ‘The Problem Child.’ In addition, Masvidal believed Paul would struggle with the pace at which he fights.  “I can get the job done. Just based on conditioning, grit, and stuff. The pace that I can keep. I don’t think he can handle my pace over a period of time. For eight rounds, I don’t think he can handle that pace,” Masvidal concluded.

In this context, it is worth revisiting when Jake publicly called out ‘Gamebred.’

Paul asked Dana White to stage a fight with Masvidal

In 2021, asking for UFC’s “star talent,” Jake Paul challenged Jorge Masvidal on X. Addressing White, ‘The Problem Child’ demanded he be matched up against ‘Gamebred’ so that he could exploit “their lack of Boxing ability.” In addition, speaking to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Paul said that he would love to test his skills against someone as seasoned as Masvidal in the ring.

It’s a good test for my skill, right? He’s the ‘Gamebred’ street fighter, with his hands. I would love that—I would love that fight,” Paul had said. Well, now that Masividal has an interest in Paul, it is likely that the bout will happen. However, to know whether or not they will fight on December 15th, fans will have to wait.
