The heavyweight division turned even more alluring with Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte’s fight getting confirmed. The two teams were in talks earlier and after some extensive meetings and delays, the fight went to purse bids. That said, many promoters were expected to jump in to finance this fight.

In the end, ‘The Gypsy King’s promoters, Frank Warren and Bob Arum won the bids to host this fight on a huge scale.

The duo won the purse bids for $41 million.

A few days ago, the WBC announced an 80/20 split for this fight, with the majority going in Fury‘s favor. That said, the WBC heavyweight champ will bank around $29.5 million compared to Whyte, who’ll receive $7.4 million.

Earlier, Whyte demanded a staggering 45% cut for this fight. As a result, the talks between the two teams were prolonged and at one point, it seemed as if this contest won’t happen. Also, the WBC gave many deadlines to Whyte and Fury’s teams to reach a conclusion.

‘The Body Snatcher’ and his team seemed adamant, and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, too was in the race for this bid. However, Hearn failed to win the bids for this clash, and ultimately Whyte agreed upon getting the above-mentioned purse.

Out of all, the highlight in this entire fight development is the winner, getting 10% as the bonus. The WBC itself announced this out-of-the-box purse allotment, keeping 10% aside for the winner. This rule remains pretty much in line with the UFC and its fight bonus rule for athletes who come out on top, bagging electrifying wins.
