“Time Was Not Kind to Them”: Jorge Masvidal’s Comment on Sylvester Stallone & Talia Shire’s ‘Then & Now’ Photo Draws Wild Reactions from ‘Rocky’ Fans

Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone gained worldwide acclaim for the success of his ‘Rocky’ movie franchise. The franchise currently has eight parts including the two Creed movies and has grossed over $1.5 billion in worldwide revenue across all movies. However, it wasn’t Stallone alone who carried the movie franchise. While one could argue that Stallone was the reason ‘Rocky’ was so successful, it’s hard to ignore the impact of actors like Burt Young, Carl Weathers, and Dolph Lundgren.

Moreover, there is one character that many feel was the pillar of success in Stallone’s ‘Rocky’, Adrian Balboa, played by Talia Shire. Adrian was a girl Rocky meets and falls in love with, before marrying and having a child in the later parts of the franchise. In addition, even after years since the two worked together, they are still close friends. Their friendship was revealed after a rare picture of the two was posted by UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger shared a photo on his Facebook page with Stallone and Shire during the shoot of ‘Rocky’. This was attached to another photo that showed the pair years later from the original ‘Rocky’ photo. Masvidal also had some words of praise for the two movie stars. “Legends,” he wrote.

Moreover, the picture also drew wild reactions from fans who were excited to see Shire and Stallone years apart as they expressed their feeling about this iconic picture.

One fan stated that the only thing in this world which cannot be stopped was time. According to him, it didn’t matter how much money a person had time would catch up eventually which made him scared. “Time is unstoppable with money or without. I remember this picture and now I get scared,” he wrote.

Another fan claimed that Stallone and Shire were not on the good side of time. “Time was not kind to them,” he wrote.

However, one fan felt inspired by the picture and thanked Masvidal for sharing it. “Incredible, this image is inspiring brother,” he wrote.

The fans were shocked to see their favorite stars not age like fine wine, which is actually the truth in most cases. However, they were still happy to see their favorite stars hitting it off after all these years. Shire played the role of ‘Adrian’ for five movies until the final part, ‘Rocky Balboa’, where she is declared dead on-screen.

This was a blow to fans who like the character of Adrian. However, Stallone gave his reasoning for why he decided it was time to let her character die. Sly himself won’t feature in the next ‘Creed’ movie, with his journey now ending, after a dispute with its producers. However, the picture goes to show a simpler time when things were not so complicated on a movie set.
