Kamaru Usman has been gunning to fight Canelo Alvarez in a boxing bout for quite some time now. The UFC’s pound-for-pound king wants to test himself against boxing’s best.

Both fighters have their next opponent lined up in their respective sports. Thus, a showdown between the two needs more time. However, a crossover fight of such magnitude would have many hurdles on the way.

Recently, Stephen Espinoza had a comment on one tweet between Kamaru Usman and Canelo Alvarez‘s back and forth on Twitter.

Espinoza pointed out Usman’s ‘you don’t that smoke’ remark and said, “Boxers have the autonomy to choose opponents… It’s not about not wanting “smoke.” It’s about professional self-determination.” Also, Espinoza took a dig at UFC fighters as he offered their ‘kickboxing instructor to choose their fights.’

Usman didn’t take the comments well from the President of the Showtime and called Espinoza one of the ‘low lives who has destroyed boxing. Even UFC superstar Conor McGregor once infamously called Espinoza ‘weasel’ during the lead to the Floyd Mayweather bout.

Also, Usman addressed the padded record of boxers and suggested the UFC has ‘The best fight The best’ model.

Earlier, the WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, and The Ring super middleweight champion teased a future bout with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare‘. However, he submitted before that fight, he is chasing a ‘legacy.

In his attempt to collect all the belts possible in boxing, the Mexican fighter is moving up to another weight category to face the WBA super champion, the undefeated Russian Dmitry Bivol, who has an impressive 19-0 record.

The May 7 bout will go down in the T-Mobile Arena for the WBA light heavyweight championship.

The four-division boxing world champion, Alvarez, is looking to add another gold to his resume. The Mexican fighter has been on a spree to collect the golds, as most of his recent bouts were for the world championships.
