Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will enter the ring against each other on the 28th of October. The much-speculated bout has been finally confirmed. The WBC also clarified that Fury received special permission to fight Ngannou as there is no official challenger. After ‘The Gypsy King’ failed to seal the deal with fighters like Oleksandr Usyk, Andy Ruiz, and Anthony Joshua, a fight against the former UFC Champion Ngannou is what the fans will be treated to.

The match in October also marks the debut of Cameroonian fighter Ngannou in professional boxing. His contract with the UFC elapsed this year as he and the organization failed to reach a common consensus.  Amidst the confirmation of the fight,  many boxing enthusiasts and eminent personalities from the combat sports world have expressed their opinions on the nature of the bout.

In a recent video on his Youtube Channel, former UFC fighter Michael Bisping gave his unfiltered thoughts on the recently confirmed fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. He spoke vividly about Tyson Fury and his advantages over the Cameroonian fighter in the boxing ring. However, Bisping was not impressed by the fact that Tyson Fury is not putting his belts on the line.

Bisping elaborated on why he thinks Fury should put his belts on the line. He said, “If you fight as the champion, okay, the belt should be on the line anytime you do. If you’re fighting under the rule sets of the belts, then the belts need to be on the line.”

He cited the rules of the match and said that if the fighters have to abide by the rules of a championship fight then the stakes must be high. Meaning, the title must be up for grabs. He further added that, in his opinion, Fury is the best heavyweight boxer on the planet, apart from Oleksandr Usyk. Moreover, he suggested that the two fight it out to defend their titles in the heavyweight division.

What are the rules of the fight?

The fight also marks the entry of Tyson Fury into the ring after defeating Derek Chisora in December last year. Now that his upcoming bout has been confirmed, the rules of the fight have also been finalized. The two will face each other in a match of 10 -rounds, each round spanning 3 minutes. The match will include knockouts and will be scored by the judges based on the 10-point system.

However, Fury’s titles won’t be up for grabs. His unbeaten record is definitely (33-0-1) on the line. It is still uncertain if the match will be added to their professional records. But it will still be overseen by the commission – to meet the standards of the professional fight.
