Ryan Garcia Takes Shot a Sean O’Malley Amid Fight Negotiations With Devin Haney

“Stop talking about this. I’m going to box stuff. You’ll just get knocked out,” Ryan Garcia told Sean O’Malley when the latter expressed interest in a boxing match. However, this hasn’t stopped O’Malley’s fans from speculating what would happen if the two fought. So, the Victorville native took a dig at O’Malley today!

It’s worth mentioning that ‘King Ry’ is currently in talks to arrange a fight against Devin Haney. However, when Garcia turned to Instagram today, sharing a snap with UFC legend Nate Diaz, something unexpected happened. One of O’Malley’s fans commented on the post antagonizing Garcia, prompting a response from the former WBC interim lightweight champion.

Ryan Garcia claims O’Malley isn’t worthy of holding his bag

Commenting on the post shared by Garcia, the user claimed ‘Suga’ would knock out Garcia in a boxing match while asserting Garcia wasn’t a real boxer. The user wrote, “Sean O’Malley would glass your chin in boxing too. Don’t forget you’re not a real ‘fighter’ either.” Unexpectedly, Garcia immediately responded to the comment with the dig.

“Sean O’Malley couldn’t hold my gym bag, let alone be able to@box with me,” Garcia wrote in response. Moreover, per Garcia’s prior comments on X (formerly Twitter), he would be ready to take on O’Malley in a tune-up fight. “Boxing and MMA are two different sports, and if you need a reminder let me know. I’ll gladly do a tune-up for my return fight,” Garcia wrote in a tweet from August 20 last year. Conversely, even ‘Suga’ seems to be open to a clash!

Sean O’Malley has eyes set on two boxers

While appearing in an interview with GQ Sports on 8 May last year, the UFC Bantamweight Champion revealed his plans to eventually box Ryan Garcia or Gervonta Davis. “If I ever do a boxing match, I think it’ll be similar to when Connor fought Floyd. When it’s the pay-per-view king in the UFC versus another pay-per-view king in boxing,” said O’Malley.

He further added, “So, Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, those are two guys that I could see myself potentially boxing in five to six years.” ‘Suga’ believes he has a really good shot at beating one of the two popular boxers. He even acknowledged that if the boxing match would happen, it would be a difficult challenge for him. However, he claims, “MMA fighting is definitely harder than boxing,” so he will manage.
