36-year-old Jose Aldo, who fought his last UFC fight against Merab Dvalishvili, is set to debut in the boxing ring. The Brazilian who once reigned the UFC featherweight division will reportedly square off against Emmanuel Zambrano. The bout will take place on February 10 and Zambrano will fight only his fourth fight in the ring. As reported by Combate, at the Upper Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Aldo will debut in boxing. While Aldo is globally known for his success in the UFC, Emmanuel Zambrano is still an unknown figure in the sport of boxing.
The boxing record of Emmanuel Zambrano, the next opponent of Jose Aldo in Brazil
Zambrano made his professional boxing debut in 2019 against fellow debutant Joel Nazareno Vinale and lost the fight via UD. In the same year, almost three months later, Zambrano fought against Rodrigo Matias Areco who was a little more experienced than him in boxing. While Zambrano walked in with a record of 0-1, Matias Areco faced the former with a record of 2-1, in pro boxing. Unfortunately, Zambrano lost via yet another UD. Following his second defeat, the Argentine boxer, for almost a year, remained absent from boxing.

Emmanuel Zambrano returned in November 2020 and fought a debutant named Alexis Nahuel Torres only to suffer this time a TKO loss inside the ring. Since this fight in 2020, Zambrano has remained inactive. Zambrano, who has not yet tasted a win in boxing, hopes to enjoy a change of fortune against Aldo in February. Although it would be Aldo’s first match in pro boxing, he undoubtedly has tremendous experience in the field of combat.

Aldo’s MMA record ahead of his debut in boxing
Following his UFC Hall of Fame induction, Aldo will begin a new journey this February in Brazil. As of now, in the world of MMA, Aldo has a record of 31-8. Among others, the Brazilian has fought the likes of Frankie Edgar, Conor McGregor, Max Holloway, Petr Yan, and Chad Mendes. Despite such an impressive resume in the UFC, as Aldo will enter the ring, he would possibly represent a fighter who is past his prime and taking a late shot at boxing.
