Anthony Taylor is a longtime training partner and friend of Jake Paul. Notably, he has taken some digs at Conor McGregor in the past. Taylor initially competed in Bellator as an MMA fighter stacking a record of 7-5. After he made a switch to boxing, his pro boxing record stands at 3-4. ‘Pretty Boy’ faced Tommy Fury in 2021 and was defeated by the latter via unanimous decision.

Taylor is infamous for his brawls outside the ring. A few months ago, he had a scuffle with Dillion Danis, another Bellator fighter. Recently, Taylor took to social media and called out his old opponent in a gutsy tweet.

Anthony Taylor fought James Gallagher at Bellator 169 in Dublin. The fight ended with Taylor securing a submission victory. However, it seemed like the fight was not a settler between the two. Directing his words to Taylor, Gallagher took to Twitter and stated, “Talk about my blood, I’ll draw some from you.”

Taylor felt the need to respond and he did so without any hesitation. He responded with, “Shut up!! I own you!!”, alongside the famous “You’ll do nothing” GIF of Conor McGregor from the UFC 202 press conference.

Indeed, the tonality did seem inspired by McGregor, and the use of his GIF could make a strong case for the same.

It is worth mentioning that the rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor is one of the most violent rivalries in the history of combat sports. Although the event turned out to be a huge financial success, the post-event incident remains a black mark on the organization’s name. The rivalry which brewed after Nurmagomedov’s hallway confrontation with McGregor’s friend Artem Lobov ended with ‘The Eagle’ flying off the octagon to attack the Irishman’s teammate Dillon Danis, who was present ringside.
