Is the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) ready to handle the ego clashes between the promotions’ two megastars? In April, this year, the UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor announced that he was the part owner of BKFC at Knucklemania 4 event. In a video message to the fans during the event, the Irish superstar said, “Ladies and gentlemen, the huge announcement that I have for you today, Conor McGregor myself and McGregor Sports and Entertainment is now an owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships.” But how did this announcement go down with another prominent face of the promotion? Mike Perry was given the “King of Violence” championship belt following his second-round TKO stoppage of UFC legend Eddie Alvarez. The undefeated fighter has shown the requisite skills to be deserving of the moniker. Now, there has been a clear indication from Perry’s side that he wouldn’t cede his popularity and reputation in BKFC to the charismatic Dubliner who is new to the game.
“I want it to be known that I am my own boss and I am also a part owner of the BKFC,” Perry told MMA Fighting in May after Conor’s co-ownership announcement. Although, initially, Perry was complimentary towards the Irish superstar bringing “the noise” to the sport, lately, it seems like he wants to one-up McGregor. Even the Dubliner’s latest show of support towards the BKFC superstar ahead of his fight against Jake Paul has been met with hostility. He reiterated that he owned stakes in the company first before Conor became the new owner.
Is there room for two kings?

As soon as McGregor joined forces with BFKC, it was quite evident that he would be championing the promotion’s golden goose, Mike Perry. Ahead of Perry’s fight against the former Disney star, McGregor fully backed ‘The Platinum’ at the press conference for BKFC’s upcoming event on Oct. 12. “You know one of our big stars. The king of violence, he titles himself. And you know he’s had such a rise in the sport now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend that we’re all rooting for him [to win].”
But, Perry seems to be reading between the lines. At a presser for his upcoming fight, the Michigan brawler reminded Conor that the title of ‘King of Violence” was conferred to him rather than a self-proclamation. “Conor said my name was self-proclaimed but they gave me the title ‘King of violence,” Perry said.

Furthermore, he stated, “I was a owner first in that company,”. However, it must be said, that although Perry claims he is a “part owner of the BKFC”, no reputed organization has carried the piece of information in its headlines. Therefore, the nature of his ownership is currently under wraps.
But is there an ulterior motive behind Perry taking subtle digs at Conor McGregor?

To make things even more interesting and funny, Chandler stated that he would be launching a tequila company that would be in direct competition with McGregor’s Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey. “My tequila is going to be better than his whiskey when that comes out. That’s the drop of the brand that’s coming out soon,” Perry said at the Jake Paul presser.
All signs are leading to a blockbuster event between the two most entertaining and elite brawlers in combat sports. Do you see the contest between McGregor and Mike Perry happening anytime soon? We’re waiting for your comments.
