Eddie Hearn, the mastermind behind Matchroom, has stated that he will be meeting with Conor McGregor in Ireland on Monday to deliberate the potential of hosting Katie Taylor‘s fight at Croke Park. The meeting will center around two potential opponents for Taylor; either a reprise against Amanda Serrano on May 20th or a clash against Chantelle Cameron in September. The announcement has created a stir among boxing enthusiasts, who have taken to social media to express their thoughts and feelings about the potential match-ups.

Several people have voiced their doubts about Hearn’s intentions, questioning why he would resort to pleading with McGregor for funds, given Matchroom and Hearn’s past support for female boxing. Additionally, there are some fans who are uncertain about the likelihood of a Taylor vs. Cameron bout happening in Dublin.

McGregor offered to sponsor Taylor’s rematch vs Serrano after Hearn canceled the Croke Park event due to high-security costs. Croke Park was supposed to be the venue for Taylor’s first pro fight in Ireland, but it was reportedly too expensive at £1.2 million. So, Hearn suggested moving it to Dublin’s 3Arena, with 10k seats and lower prices. Hearn still wants the fight at Croke Park. McGregor wants to help make it happen because he has expressed his interest in Taylor. Thus, Hearn’s heading to Dublin to figure things out, but Taylor’s Croke Park debut might have to wait until summer.
