Tyson Fury who hasn’t fought any matches since his last bout against Derek Chisora, has become a hot commodity fighters want to get their hands on. Although the fans are still disappointed that the Oleksandr Usyk fight could not be made. However, Tyson’s prospects appear to still be open. Moreover, it seems that we may get to see a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Conor McGregor type of bout.
This is because, after the whole Usyk fiasco, Fury can’t find an opponent to face, so it may be his luck that options outside his sport have opened up. He may very well end up facing either Jon Jones or Francis Ngannou in the ring. However, a former boxing champion has another piece of advice for Fury.

Andre Ward recently shared his thoughts on Fury facing Jones or Ngannou as he appeared on The MMA Hour. The former two-division world champion claimed that he is all for the cross-sports fight. However, he can’t see the fight actually materializing as of now. Ward expressed his personal preference to witness Fury take on both fighters, stating, “I would like to see [Fury fight] both.”
However, Ward doesn’t believe that Tyson Fury is inclined to face either of those opponents. He suggests that Fury may opt for a lucrative payday similar to what Floyd Mayweather did, but emphasizes that Fury’s current focus seems to be on understanding the intricacies of boxing. He reminded Fury that he has been off boxing and fans are upset.
According to Ward if Fury focuses on fighting those guys right now, it would not be “the right time”. He then suggested, “Get a boxing fight, [Anthony] Joshua, something like that, and then go fight one of those guys.” As per Ward, Fury needs to stick to his sport for now and later plan a cross-sport fight.

Francis Ngannou has been desiring a bout against Fury for a while now, however, even after the talks going on for over a year and a half and the fight is still far from materializing. Moreover, ‘The Gypsy King’ has recently talked about offers from both Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou, but he ended by saying that “there’s a lot of options out there”. It seems that Ngannou is feeling frustrated by Fury’s attitude. He claimed that he has always wanted the fight. He added that it seems to him that Fury is “Pretty good at bouncing here and there”.
Ngannou added that he is feeling frustrated that even after 3 years of going back and forth on social media the fight is still not materializing. He said that he has seen a lot of comments from Fury and stated, “At this point of things I’m a little confused!”. Ngannou claimed that he doesn’t understand if Fury “enjoys doing comments or enjoys fighting”. Moreover, he made it clear that he is ready for one fight in boxing and one in MMA, and that he is even open to having two fights in the ring as well.
