Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned boxer, has a scheduled match against Mike Tyson next month, which is expected to be the biggest fight of his career. But The Problem Child is already making plans for the future as he laid a challenge down for another MMA fighter a few days ago.
The 27-year-old has made a career out of challenging MMA fighters to a boxing match and this time he has set his sights on UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira. A few days ago, Paul came out and stated that he would have no problem facing Pereira in a boxing ring and claimed to know a major hole in the latter’s gameplay. The Puerto Rican resident once again taunted and challenged the UFC champion in the second episode of MVP Uncut Puerto Rico and vowed to prove his doubters wrong.

The 10-1 boxer stated that even though Poatan will be the favorite in an MMA ring, he won’t be much of a problem inside a boxing ring. “That’s why I said, I beat Pereira in boxing,” stated Paul as he went on to reveal Poatan’s weaknesses that no one has been able to exploit yet. Paul stated, “His pace is a lot slower. They are throwing like half as many punches per round and no one works to his body.” The Problem Child was surprised that no one had ever targeted the 205-pound Brazilian’s body in the UFC. His confidence also derives from the fact that Alex Pereira will be quite restricted in a boxing ring and won’t be able to use his full arsenal against him.

Ever since Jake Paul announced his desire to fight Poatan, fans and experts have started to troll him. Jake was adamant that he wanted to prove everyone wrong as he has done time and time again. “I wanna do it so badly because I love when I know something and the whole world’s like ‘Jake would die!’ Proving them wrong would be awesome,” stated the 27-year-old as he walked out of the gym. According to Paul, he can exploit Pereira’s weakness in the boxing ring easily and there is no doubt in his mind regarding the outcome of the match.
Jake Paul exhaled and uttered, “Jake Paul vs Alex Pereira,” as he was walking out of the gym, indicating the future desire for a matchup. The Ohio-born YouTuber has displayed his eagerness for the bout, but whether the match could happen is a completely different story.

What’s your perspective on:
Can Jake Paul really expose Alex Pereira's weaknesses, or is he biting off more than he can chew?
Have an interesting take?
Is the match even possible?
The Jake Paul-Alex Pereira boxing match does not seem likely to happen anytime soon. Why? On one hand, Dana White will be reluctant to let his top prized fighter fight in a boxing match. Furthermore, Pereira, who has already fought 3 times this year, admitted that he might need some rest after his recent victory against Khalil Rountree at UFC 307.
On the other hand, Jake Paul himself is gearing up for his MMA debut next year after the Mike Tyson fight. Last month, PFL CEO Peter Murray stated that Paul would be heading to Smart Cage soon. He stated, “We have a partnership with Jake and we’re looking forward to supporting him in MMA. We’re going to stage that mega event next year and more to come on that too. That will happen,” expressing that Paul will face a legitimate challenge in his MMA debut.
