Echoes from the battlefield at FLA Live Arena bounce off, reverberating from corners far-flung across the country. Did the fight leave the viewers so disappointed that they took over when the boxers packed up? Jokes aside, the premature closure of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti III bout, followed by the battle royal, unleashed a chain of conjectures and hypotheses. Different angles, different perspectives. Now Chael Sonnen joined the bandwagon to blitz in his theory on what happened that night.

A few hours ago, Chael Sonnen entered the arena, not the FLA Live, to share his thoughts on what happened in Sunrise, Florida. According to the submission grappling promoter, to all intents and purposes, Gotti III attacked Mayweather Jr. for entertainment. While he mentions that he saw the footage thrice, he couldn’t proceed further. As a result, he came across the information on the fight through a publication.

He said, “I read somewhere that it did the video that I saw. I think a whole bunch of people came in the ring, and I think tensions were high, but I think I think that everything kind of died down right there, so how accurate that is?Explaining what he meant by entertainment purposes, Sonnen said that Gotti III never pursued Mayweather Jr. during the fight. However, he kept missing when he lunged at him after the premature stoppage, failing to make any connections, “…the fact he missed him barely touched him looked like he was trying to miss and or barely touch him…

Secondly, in Sonnen’s view, referee Kenny Bayless never appeared as someone eager to break up the brawl. He said, “He was very cooperative…waiting for that instruction. He didn’t want to be doing that, and he was trying to offer the fans some level of entertainment. Then he further proceeded to issue of suspending Gotti III s boxing license

The Night of the Nights

Floyd Mayweather Jr. stepped into the exhibition trail roughly a year after he retired. He became a globetrotting celebrity boxer. Debuting in 2018, he has thus far participated, including the latest one, in seven matches in the genre. His record stands at three wins. Out of the remaining four, three were non-scoring ones. Unfortunately, the fourth one, the most recent, came a cropper as a no-contest.

Outboxed, unable to withstand Mayweather Jr.’s onslaught, Gotti III resorted to clinching and headlocks. All the while, the duo’s trash talks continued. Referee Kenny Bayless warned them to stop. However, both boxers continued. As expected, a fed-up Bayless finally raised his hands, halting the fight. But only if the matters had simmered down there. Gotti III, unhappy, went after Mayweather Jr. What followed was unbelievable, as team members from both corners joined the ring. It was a classic free-for-all.

Thanks to the security details, they whisked away both the fights. But the ranks continued. They were reports of fights occurring backstage. Finally, it took police intervention to settle the matters down.
