It won’t be a stretch to say that currently the most anticipated Heavyweight boxing fight is between the division’s top contenders, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. More so, it was on the verge of happening but it couldn’t come to fruition as both fighters weren’t able to find a middle ground. Well, now Tyson Fury has moved on to his next fight, which is supposed to be a crossover exhibition fight against former UFC fighter, Francis Ngannou. Meanwhile, Usyk is going to defend his WBA, IBF, and WBO titles against his mandatory opponent, Daniel Dubois.

Although both fighters have taken a step forward, boxing fans are still hopeful about the prospect of their fight. The beef between the two has only increased exponentially, as both of them blame each other for the event falling apart at the last moment. The Unified Heavyweight champion took out his time to have a conversation with Sky Sports News. In that interview, he clearly stated that he’s planning to take on ‘ The Gypsy King’ after he takes on Daniel Dubois in Poland. So, the chances of Usyk and Fury getting inside the ring against each other still exist. Besides this, he was asked about his views regarding the upcoming bout of Fury on October 28.

Usyk said that it’s a great opportunity for Francis Ngannou, as he’ll get great money for one fight. So, it’s a profitable deal for ‘The Predator’. But simultaneously he said, “For Tyson Fury, it’s definitely not.” The Ukrainian boxer believes that Fury’s looking for an easy fight. He also said, “Doesn’t it seem strange that instead of choosing a top-10 guy, he is choosing someone who has never boxed before?

So, later, when the interviewer asked him if he thinks Fury is afraid of him, Usyk agreed to this and even addressed the WBC Heavyweight champion as ‘Greedy Belly’. Well, besides ‘The Cat’, there’s another known individual in the combat sports world who is disappointed with Fury.

Former MMA fighter calls Fury a “bully”

The UFC veteran Chael Sonnen spoke about Tyson Fury’s decision of fighting an MMA athlete who possesses zero experience in the boxing sport. This shocked Sonnen as he confessed that he liked Fury, but things have completely changed for him now. He couldn’t fathom how a guy like Fury, who has every possible gift to become an unstoppable machine, chose to stand against an inexperienced boxer.

Sonnen said, “He has weapons and tools that other men can’t deal with if they’re not armed. And he’s going to choose to use those to beat up a guy who’s at least 37 with no experience and is on one leg. That’s a bully, and it’s a scumbag.” He stated that he would never do such a thing like this to anybody, and further emphasized Fury’s bullying behavior. Although many stand against this fight, a former boxing champion called it a “great business move”. According to Sonnen, Fury opted for this exhibition too soon.
