In Quebec City, Artur Beterbiev defended his trio of 175-pound titles against former super middleweight titleholder Callum Smith. The 38-year-old unified champion holds an impeccable record of 20 knockout wins. Despite his unassuming demeanor, Beterbiev maintained his KO streak, securing a seventh-round knockout victory over Smith in the bout.

Besides this, he was spotted celebrating his victory with his great friend and UFC legend, Georges St-Pierre. They’ve been good friends for a long time, so it’s not a surprise that Beterbiev shared his victory with his fellow fighter. Not only that, he even shared the moment on his social media to keep the fans in the loop.

Artur Beterbiev spends time with his close friend

Apparently, George St-Pierre has known the Canadian Russian boxer since the time he didn’t even know how to speak English. On multiple occasions, both of these fighters have trained together in the gym. Even though, both of them belong to a different sport, their warrior spirit binds them together in the brutal world of combat sports.

In addition to that, both fighters also keep on posting photos of their endeavors together on social media. And that’s what happened this time as well after Beterbiev secured yet another victory. George St-Pierre uploaded an Instagram Post, where he posted a picture while traveling in a private jet. Both friends played a game of checkers in which Beterbiev came out as the winner.

He shared this post on his Instagram Story, and he also added a handshake emoji on top of the picture. Besides this, Beterbiev has also talked about how he’d seek help from talented UFC veterans, St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Beterbiev has good friends if he ever decides to step inside the octagon

During a recent press conference, Artur Beterbiev faced questions about potential offers to enter the realm of MMA. Notably, not so long ago, he was reminded of his interest in training with MMA legend Georges St-Pierre. The inquiry hinted at the possibility of the accomplished boxer venturing into the world of MMA.

Beterbiev said, “We, as boxers, promote the sport. And it’d be interesting to fight their champion with MMA rules. Me – a boxing champ in my weight class – against their champion; whoever it is. That’d be interesting. I don’t think that’s been done before, specifically with MMA rules.” Furthermore, he continued, “As far as training with Khabib and Georges, our sports are different. But if I get an MMA fight, I’d ask them to help me and share their experience with me.

It seems he’s ready to step into the world of MMA if the right offer comes along. But, that’s for later; as things stand now, he will be looking to cement his undisputed status in the light-heavyweight division by securing a fight against Bivol.
