As the MMA star Sean O’Malley bathed in the glory of becoming a champion after his recent victory against Aljamain Sterling at the UFC 292, he shocked the world with his words. The 28-year-old fighter called out the WBA regular champion Gervonta Davis during the post-fight conference. The call-out shocked the world as even Davis’ rival Ryan Garcia stepped in asking O’Malley to not take the fight. Jorge Masvidal also gave his two cents on the potential bout. However, recently sports reporter Elie Seckbach asked Davis’ team about the situation and shared the video of their responses on Instagram.

In the video, Sachbach asked Davis’ coach Calvin Ford about O’Malley, to which the coach acted as if he didn’t know anything about the fighter. He joked that the only O’Malley he knows is the former mayor of Baltimore. Kenny Ellis, another member of Davis’ team, also claimed that Gervonta would make quick work of the MMA fighter. When asked about how quickly would he win, Ellis claimed that it would be a one-round K.O.

He also claimed that even other boxers like Shakur Stevenson, and Devin Haney would be able to “knock him out.” However, Sachbach disagreed and claimed that Haney would not be able to do so. To this Ford turns around and says, “I understand what you tryna do man, but cut it out”. Overall, Davis’ team didn’t seem that interested in the prospect of the potential crossover bout.
