It looks like a potential rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is back on the cards after the two recently engaged in a back and forth on social media. Mayweather last fought the UFC superstar back in 2017 in his last professional bout and has only competed in exhibition bouts since then.

‘Money’ recently expressed interest in his former rival after stating that he could be looking to face him in 2023. In an interview with Mail Sport, he revealed his interest in fighting McGregor, even in a professional fight, although he would prefer it to be an exhibition bout. “I want to go out there this weekend and have fun. Then I have another exhibition, Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023. We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight. But there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition,” he said.

However, McGregor seemingly did not share the same interest in the bout as ‘Money’. The Irish fighter took to Instagram and posted a photo of him and Mayweather with the caption,” #notinterested.”

Mayweather will face MMA star Mikuru Asakura in Japan on September 24th and already has plans for next year. But this did not stop the former 4-division champ to call out the Irishman as he sounded off on McGregor in the comments.

He stated that McGregor is certainly interested in getting paid to fight him. He also urged UFC president Dana White to let him face the former UFC lightweight champ.” You are interested in getting paid to get your a*s kicked again! You’re just not a shot caller like me and Dana White. @danawhite please feed me this b**h again. Thanks in advance.” Mayweather wrote.

It looks like a potential rematch between the two might be on the horizon. However, Mayweather is now 45 years old and retired from professional boxing, which could very well lead him to change his mind by next year. McGregor, on the other hand, has also expressed his interest in returning to the octagon, which could mean that this fight does not take place in the near future.
