Ahead of his fight with Tommy Fury, Jake Paul during an interview with talkSPORT, requested Conor McGregor to sponsor Katie Taylor’s debut in Ireland against Amanda Serrano. While Katie Taylor dreamed about fighting at the Croke Park arena, the primary organizers of the event were reluctant to pay the estimated bills. At this, the former UFC champion Conor McGregor publicly declared that he would sponsor the said event and pay the extra security bill.
McGregor has not forgotten his words and in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani spoke about his involvement with the upcoming Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano event in Ireland. According to Conor McGregor, Croke Park is a dream venue for any combat sports enthusiasts and martial artists.

McGregor revealed the role he was playing in the event. “The Katie Taylor situation. I am involved. So, I’m gonna support the event, I’m gonna sponsor the event. Now it’s going to be in the O2, I wanted to get it in Croke Park. We are pushing still for Croke Park… And we’re pushing for September,” McGregor said.

The former UFC champion would love to see Taylor fight at Croke Park. In the interview, Conor McGregor, addressing Katie Taylor’s dream, spoke about the phenomenal arena that Croke Park is. “It’s such a great arena. To get a combat event in Croke Park, for all those combat enthusiasts and Martial Artists of Ireland would be a dream. So, I would love to see Katie do it,” McGregor added by saying.

Like any other martial artist from Ireland, Katie Taylor has long wished to fight inside the Croke Park arena. On the Flash Knockdown podcast, regarding Croke Park, she’d said, “That would be an absolute dream. It’s a shame really that I’ve had 21 fights in my career and I’ve never actually fought in Ireland.”
Although there is a high chance of the fight now taking place in the O2 Arena, McGregor has assured that he is still pushing for Croke Park.
