Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has had his fair share of awkward moments in his career. However, only a few compare his meetup with Anthony Joshua back in 2017. The former 5-division champion appeared at a fan event in London alongside ‘AJ’ back in May of 2017 ahead of his showdown with Conor McGregor.

The pair posed for pictures with fans, but ‘Money’ didn’t get much love from those in attendance. Moreover, UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa even reacted to this video. He wrote that the video made him cry, as he could not handle the awkwardness in the video.

The video showed Mayweather being repeatedly ignored by fans who were seemingly more excited to meet the former heavyweight champion. Mayweather looked flabbergasted as fans brushed past him to shake hands with Joshua while ignoring him. Moreover, the fans were also quick to jump on Mayweather’s misery as they reacted to the video.

One fan hilariously stated that the women would prefer Joshua, who stands at 6 feet 6 inches over the much shorter Mayweather.

Another fan claimed that Mayweather only wanted to be a part of the team.

However, one fan pointed out that the video was highly edited to make Mayweather look bad. He added that although he didn’t like ‘Money’ he still respected his accomplishments in the sport of boxing.

One fan even felt bad for Mayweather, stating that even having all the money in the world could not make him look like Joshua.

Lastly, one fan prayed for ‘Money’s’ feelings which had clearly been hurt.

While some fans seemed to relate with Mayweather, others found the awkward interaction hilarious, including Costa. However, Mayweather might not be too bothered by this as he is currently getting ready for his next exhibition bout against YouTube sensation Deji. The pair are set to clash over eight rounds in what will be a star-studded event in Dubai on November 13.

Moreover, this will be the former champ’s 5th exhibition bout since his retirement in 2017 and the second exhibition in 2022. Even at 47 years old, it seems Mayweather has shown no signs of leaving the sport altogether.
