The two-time heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has led a roller-coaster life to say the least. He has seen the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. Hence, a biopic has been announced about Tyson’s life starring Academy Award winner, Jamie Foxx.

Although Foxx is an incredibly talented actor, UFC commentator Joe Rogan has some issues with him playing the role of Tyson.

Joe Rogan explains his issue with Jamie Foxx playing Mike Tyson

In his JRE podcast with Hotep Jesus, Rogan discusses the upcoming biopic on Tyson’s life. Rogan admitted that Foxx is an exceptional choice for playing Mike Tyson. He stated, “Jamie would nail it like his mannerisms and everything you probably feel like you are around Mike Tyson.”

However, the UFC commentator went on to explain his concerns regarding the same. He elaborated, “I wonder how big he’s going to get to play Tyson. Jamie’s built but Tyson’s a tank of a human it’s like a different kind of build. Jamie’s built like an athlete. Mike Tyson’s built like Mike Tyson”

Furthermore, Joe Rogan stated the kind of beast Iron Mike was. He said, “If you are playing Mike Tyson in his prime like bro you gotta be jacked. You know Mike Tyson was a tank just a tank. It’s not like a regular athlete’s body.”

Knowing the kind of life the ‘Baddest Man on Planet’ has led and the things he has gone through, it’s no surprise that everyone is looking to document it. Hence, a documentary called ‘The Knockout’ previously captured Tyson’s life.

Recently, a limited TV series dedicated to illustrating Tyson’s life called ‘Tyson’ was announced. The world-renowned actor Jamie Foxx will portray Tyson’s character. Additionally, Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese will executive produce this project.
