Sonnen appeared in a recent interview on the YouTube channel Bloody Elbow with Donagh Corby, where he boldly spoke about Jake Paul and how he chooses his opponents. He emphasized that people should not tease Paul for his choices; they should rather study him. Sonnen said, “I’m impressed with Jake by the way I think Jake’s somebody uh that people should study not teas I think that he’s somebody people should uh copy and emulate I mean I feel like he really came in and figured this out.”

He didn’t stop there. He also said he thinks Jake Paul will win. Even though he considered his statement controversial, he didn’t want to add fuel to the fire, but he still sided with Paul in this case. However, Uncle Sonnen gave a valid reason for siding with Jake Paul. He said that while MMA fighters usually win against YouTubers, Jake is a special case.

Sonnen also pointed to past fights where YouTubers faced retired legends like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley and explained that Paul only takes on tough opponents, emphasizing his fight against Woodley, whom Sonnen described as a “big gun” like an oak tree.

However, these decisions have yielded fruitful results for Jake Paul. He’s nearly undefeated, with his only loss coming a split decision to Tommy Fury. Now Mike Tyson is his next target.
