The Olympic games have turned into a top attraction in the sporting universe and it has hooked every sports fan in with these stupendous games. Every sports category in these games is certainly keeping the fans engaged, but boxing lovers are unquestionably witnessing some stern contenders rolling out cosmic performances. That said, team, Great Britain is one of the staunch boxing teams in these games. And recently, its fighters, Caroline Dubois and Pat McCormack, put on some classic performances to bag their first wins.
Dubois beat Kosovo’s Donjeta Sadiku and McCormack too vanquished Belarus’ Sasha Radzionau to claim unanimous decision wins.

Both the British boxers began their campaigns on a pleasant note and in fact, McCormack with his win over Radzionau made a place for himself in the quarter-finals.
Dubois, a prime lightweight, in her fight against Sadiku showed some offensive fight approach. She kept control of the ring for a major chunk of time, and with her constant jabs, the young gun showed her true class. Right from the first gong, she seemed determined and her game plans looked effective until the very end.
This approach helped her counter her opponent in every department, thus leaving her as a winner in the end.

McCormack started his fight slow. He wanted to decode his contemporary style of fighting early and this is why he took time to come on the front foot. However, once he began his assault, he only got comfortable and the welterweight stalwart bagged a sensational win.

What’s next for Caroline Dubois and Pat McCormack?
Now that Dubois and McCormack have made a statement in the Tokyo Olympics. They will now move ahead to strengthen their stints here.

McCormack will face Usman Baturov in his quarter-final test on 30th July. Whereas Dubois will meet Rashida Ellis in the last 16 on July 30 as well.

That said, every boxing lover will be glued to their TV screens. To see these two young guns put on a show once again. It’ll be interesting to see if Dubois and McCormack continue their pursuit of gold supremely.
