In a do-or-die game, Argentina recently beat Mexico with a score of 2-0. Following this much-needed victory, Messi and the Argentine team celebrated their hearts out in the locker room they were occupying. A video of the celebration went out. In the video, the captain of the Argentine team, Lionel Messi, seemed to have unconsciously touched a Mexican jersey with his foot while everyone else was singing and dancing.

Following the circulation of the clip, Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez took to Twitter and threatened Messi, who he once addressed as one of the best fighters to live. Alvarez said, “Did you guys see Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag? He better pray to God that I don’t find him. Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico! I’m not talking about the country, I’m talking about Messi because of the bulls*** he did.”

Messi, however, did not address the fiasco involving the Mexican jersey. LM10 said Argentina “needed this euphoria” to keep their peace of mind. With this recent 2-0 win over Mexico, Argentina is now back in the contest and prepared to compete.

In the 64th minute, Lionel Messi scored a sensational goal to keep Argentina alive. It was Enzo Fernandez who hammered the final nail in the 87th minute. Although Alvarez was infuriated, he once not only said that Messi was one of the best, but that he could also be a great fighter in boxing.

On being informed that Messi would be a good fighter given his build and height, Alvarez replied by saying, “Yeah, why not? Maybe.” While Alvarez made one tweet after another, neither Messi nor anyone from the Argentine team said anything specific to him.
