Things didn’t quite go as planned for the biggest influencer boxer Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ was keen on fighting Canelo Alvarez, having previously fought legendary heavyweight Mike Tyson last year. Reports suggested that a deal between the duo was close to being finalized for May 3rd, an announcement also seemed imminent.

However, in one of the biggest unforeseen twists, ‘Cinnamon’ signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season instead. Along with it came the confirmation that the Mexican superstar would fight Terence Crawford in September in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the former undisputed super middleweight king will be fighting current IBF super middleweight champion William Scull in May.

On the other hand, ‘The Problem Child’ was left empty-handed, but the latest reports have revealed that Paul is open to fighting former IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch. Earlier today, Boxing Kingdom hopped on X to write, “Jake Paul’s team is now OPEN to the possibility of fighting Carl Froch next‼️”

If you didn’t know, Paul and Froch aren’t the best of friends. On numerous occasions, ‘The Cobra’ has criticized the younger Paul brother for his fights, and has presented himself as the biggest critic. Not just criticism, Forch has previously challenged Jake Paul to a fight, insisting that he will be the one to put Paul on the canvas for good.

While these challenges haven’t worked in the past, with Paul lacking an opponent for his next fight, things seem promising. However, Paul’s team has previously shown openness to a fight between them, yet it never materialized.

According to a January 6th report from talkSport, Jake Paul’s advisor, Nakisa Bidarian, responded to Carl Froch’s challenge, urging the retired British boxer to present a serious offer if he truly wants the fight. Froch repeatedly called out Paul, even proposing to fight for charity. However, Bidarian dismissed the idea unless it met financial expectations.

“Sure Carl, show up with an offer that makes sense,” Bidarian told The Sun. “Since he’s fighting for charity anyways, show up with an offer that makes sense for MVP and Jake Paul.” Bidarian questioned Froch’s ability to generate interest in the U.S. and emphasized Paul’s earning power. “If and when they’re ready to show us an offer… and that it is an eight-figure opportunity for Jake Paul… happy to have the conversation.”

That said, while it’s not impossible for a fight to happen between Jake Paul and Carl Froch, the question is will Paul be open to fighting Froach, and will such a fight make sense financially in the US? Would you be down to watch the fight?
