America will remain glued to its TV sets tomorrow. At the majestic Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Super Bowl LVIII will take its course in all its glory. Boxing’s very own, Sugar Ray Leonard has joined this bandwagon of national excitement. He expressed it by roping in a name that has peaked this season of the NFL- Taylor Swift.

On Sunday, at the iconic annual event, the Kansas City Chiefs will square off against the San Francisco 49ers. The former team is sort of a bastion to the Super Bowl, thanks to their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. The 49ers hold the opportunity to reignite history if they register a win this year. They have not won a season since 1994. Ray Leonard and his son showed their eagerness for the Titans to clash. However, while doing so, the son also gave a pertinent reality check to his welterweight boxer of a father.

Currently, Ms Swift remains in Japan for her ‘Eras Tour’, in which she plays hits from all her 14 albums, each denoting an era. Jarrel Leonard, son of the former 36-3-1, Ray Leonard implied that his ‘pops’ was too old for these eras. Instead, he suggested that Leonard should enjoy the music of his era, the bygone. How? By listening to R&B Star, Tevin Campbell.

On his Instagram, the Maryland-based former fighter expressed his anticipation for the Super Bowl by striking a pose with the duke. A wide smile, dapper in a white polo and blue trousers, the image was followed by visuals of him gorging on popcorn. In captions, he noted, “Anticipating the big game—and the big game snacks!” However, one detail that most failed to ignore was the famous ‘Taytay’ song, ‘Read for it?’ from her hit, comeback album, ‘Reputation.’

In comments, his son, Jarrel, in all jest replied, “Pops! I know you ain’t playing Taylor Swift @sugarrayleonard ! Cmon Pops! Stick to the Tevin Campbell [laughing emoji].” Campbell rose to fame in the 90s for his soulful voice.
