Floyd Mayweather, the boxing legend, is gearing up for an extravagant Super Bowl experience at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. In a grand gesture, Mayweather has spared no expense, shelling out a staggering $1.1 million on Super Bowl suites. This lavish investment is not just for himself; it includes a select group of 34 people that he’ll be taking along with him.

As Mayweather prepares to immerse himself in the Super Bowl spectacle, his choice to splurge on the best seats in the stadium showcases his opulent nature. In addition, Mayweather recently revealed that he paid $18 million in taxes to Uncle Sam. As ‘Money’ posted an image of the check on his Instagram., the Golden Boy Promotions CEO and Floyd’s long-time rival, Oscar De La Hoya, refused to indulge in the veracity of Mayweather’s claim. Not only that, he went as far as to call the check “not real.”

The photo of Floyd Mayweather’s cheque for his tax repayment broke the internet. However, it seemed unconvincing in the eyes of Oscar De La Hoya as Mayweather boasted the check worth $18 million. Mayweather even talked about how his retirement hasn’t affected his monetary success.

He stated that before he bought the “$1.3 million Super Bowl suite”, “I had to pay the IRS aka Uncle Sam $18,047,181.” Mayweather emphasized that this is the tax he continues to pay post-retirement, leaving one to ponder the substantial earnings he amassed during his active career.

Daily Loud reposted the picture and the caption on X. That’s where De La Hoya addressed his doubts about the check. He wrote, “Not to be an a** but where are the routing/tracking numbers to that check? Sorry but that’s not real haha.”

The lack of routing or tracking numbers on the check does add some weight to his doubts. However, when it comes to money and Mayweather, nothing is hardly a surprise. It could’ve been the case that Mayweather didn’t want his account number to be leaked, so he kept the numbers hidden. Whatever the case may be, the sight of a check worth $18 million is sure to tickle the fancy of onlookers.
