It was Super Bowl LVII, and Mayweather bet on the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Kansas City Chiefs. But even though he lost $10,000 when the Chiefs emerged victorious, he ended the night with a $10,500 profit, backing the Eagles for a halftime lead. Super Bowl LVIII could be similar for him. How so? While he may have spent a “light million” on a suite, he will likely profit from the experience of watching the first-ever Super Bowl in Las Vegas. And so will 34 others!

Floyd’ Money’ Mayweather isn’t one to settle for the ordinary. So, when the opportunity to purchase an unforgettable weekend at the Allegiant Stadium presented itself, how could he have said no? After all, he wanted to be the one calling the shots. On that note, Mayweather, who will be hosting the ultimate Super Bowl bash, showed off his Super Bowl suite transaction with Great Buy Tickets on Instagram.

Proudly revealing the seven-figure sum he spent – $1,131,000 to be exact – the billionaire wrote, “I don’t kiss a**, and I never have to beg for nothing, especially not to get a Super Bowl suite.” Considering the season-ending game is happening in Vegas for the first time, ticket prices were already soaring to record-breaking amounts. With the luxury suites priced as high as $2.5 million, Mayweather pulled out all the stops. And he did it to have the best possible experience.

“I don’t mind accepting invites at times, but one thing’s for sure…The person that’s paying does all the saying. Therefore, I get My Own seats and suites so I can do what I want and invite who I want!” wrote Mayweather. In addition, the boxer, who will rematch John Gotti III after Super Bowl LVIII, took pride in being able to offer others a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Paradise, Nevada. “I’m blessed to be taking 34 people to experience the 1st Super Bowl in Las Vegas!” 

Given Mayweather’s record, it is also very likely that the 50-0 boxer will bet money on either the Chiefs or the 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII. While he may not be a fan of the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes & Co. did rain on his parade in 2023. He may be a billionaire, but after the February spending he’s already done, Mayweather might just think twice about going against them again.

The “little Super Bowl stuff” was nothing compared to Floyd Mayweather’s taxes

Shortly after boasting his extravagant plans for Super Bowl Sunday, Floyd Mayweather posted another life update on Instagram. Whether or not he was as happy about that as he was about the Super Bowl suite is up for debate. But to put things into perspective, the Hall of Famer spent around $20 million in a matter of hours.

Having amassed the wealth that he has over his illustrious career, it’s understandable that his taxes would be pretty high as well. Posting a picture check, he wrote, “Just before I paid that light million and change for that little Super Bowl stuff, I had to pay the IRS, aka Uncle Sam, $18,047,181. This is what I owed in taxes while I’m retired, so just imagine what I was paying when I was activated.”
