Floyd Mayweather became synonymous with the term ‘victory’ following his unparalleled dominance in the sport for over two decades constantly. He fought the best of his time and outworked all of them. That said, he is one of the few to have fought elite-level champions throughout his life.

From Canelo Alvarez, Zab Judah, to Oscar De La Hoya, Marcos Maidana, and Manny Pacquiao, ‘TBE’ Mayweather has vanquished them all. However, he was never absolutely invincible in the ring. Mayweather came across some tough opponents but always found his ways to win. After almost half a decade since his retirement, ‘Money’ looked back at his training camps from the past, and picked the fight for which he believes he was over-trained.

Chatting exclusively with SportsIcon, Mayweather said, “I never overlooked any opponent. So I feel like, for the Miguel Cotto fight, I over-trained and for the Diego Corrales fight, I trained perfect for that. For the Arturo Gatti fight, I trained perfect for that. Who else is?”

Mayweather also referred to his scrap against Justin Juuko, which he had won via KO in 1995. Mayweather hailed Juuko as one of his toughest opponents. Per Floyd Mayweather, not a lot of people consider that fight. But he believes differently and continues to applaud the Uganda-boxer.

Well, Mayweather fought Juuko in the early years of his career, which was overshadowed by his bigger fights. Miguel Cotto was one of those fighters who went to the distance with Floyd Mayweather. Unfortunately, Mayweather outworked him for most of the 12-rounds and earned a unanimous win. After that, Floyd Mayweather fought seven more times before retiring in 2017 with a win over UFC star, Conor McGregor.

Mayweather seemed unfazed and full of confidence in all of his bouts, especially in the later years. He verbally overpowered Manny Pacquiao ahead of their fight, which worked in his favor in the ring. Although Conor McGregor offered him intense trash-talking, the in-ring reality saw Mayweather topple the Irishman.

Even after his retirement, Mayweather has appeared in two exhibition bouts. He is currently in talks to appear in his third exhibition fight. Therefore, the undefeated five-weight champion is still close to the sport of boxing, spinning some serious money from it.
